What is it made of?
We use all-natural, human grade ingredients including whole wheat
flour or rice flour, peanut flour, natural banana flavor, carob powder,
beet powder, evaporated cane juice, salt, baking powder and yogurt
powder.
Can people eat it?
We frequently test our product for quality by eating it ourselves
and we usually look forward to those days, but we are not rated by the
Health Department for human consumption so we DO NOT recommend eating
it. We are inspected by the PA Department of Agriculture.
Can my cat eat these products?
Yes, your cat can eat Puppy Cake products, but they may not like the taste. Please be mindful of proportions.
Will it make my dog fat?
Puppy Cake will not make your dog fat when fed properly. When
feeding, cut back on their dog food for that day or take them for an
extra walk (they’ll especially love that!.
Could it make my dog sick?
Puppy Cake is highly digestible and rarely has digestive issues for
even sensitive stomachs, but always read ingredients and make sure your
dog does not have any food allergies to the ingredients.
Do you offer a wheat-free version?
We offer a wheat-free Peanut Butter cake mix, Pumpkin cake mix and Red Velvet cake mix made with rice flour.
How much cake do I give my dog?
Please be considerate of the size of your dog in relation to the portion you give them. NOTE: A small dog should NEVER be fed the entire cake!
How many cupcakes does it make?
Each box makes at least 8 cupcakes, 24 mini cupcakes, or a 6" round cake.
What is the shelf life?
Puppy Cake has a 1 year shelf life before it is baked. After it is baked, cover and
refrigerate for up to 5 days. They will last for several months in the
freezer.
How do I make it?
Follow the instructions on each box: add 1 egg, oil and water, mix
then bake at 350 degrees for about 20-25 minutes. After the cake is completely cooled, add water to the icing and top cakes.
What size pan should I use to bake a cake?
We recommend a 6” round cake pan, but you can also use an 8” round cake pan or an 8×8 casserole dish. NOTE: If using anything larger than a 6” cake pan, the cake may come out thin.
How well does the cake bake in the microwave?
Very well! Please be sure to use a microwave-safe dish. For
satisfactory results, we suggest a high-powered microwave, i.e. 1500
watts.
What kind of icing should I use?
Icing is provided in each cake box.
The icing I made is too thick.
Carefully add additional drops of water at a time to create the desired thickness.
The icing I made is too runny.
Add
1 tablespoon of peanut butter to the icing and stir. If desired
thickness is not achieved, carefully add 1 more tablespoon of peanut
butter. NOTE: The color of the icing will no longer be white.
What is the best way to store the finished Puppy Cakes?
Store in an airtight container in a the refrigerator for 5 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.

No! Puppy Scoops is a shelf-stable powder mix that you add water to and freeze.
How much ice cream do I give my dog?
Small Dog: 1 scoop
Medium Dog: 2 scoops
Large Dog: 3-4 scoops
Huge Dog: 4-5 Scoops
What is the shelf life of the ice cream once I make it?
4-6 weeks in the freezer.
How much salt/sodium is in the mixes?
An entire cake box contains 105mg of sodium.
An entire ice cream container contains 28mg of sodium.
